EA FC 24. Getting UXy with it

As part of EA FC’s inaugural release, I wrote copy for in-game text across PS5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch for all the varying game modes and the touchpoints within them. Over three months I wrote following UX best practices, testing and iterating journeys to ensure we hit the crucial tonality for FC24. It being the first of a new franchise, this was especially important. Working with a great cross-functional team of writers, UX designers, developers, programmers, strategists and UX architects - the goal (wheeey) was to match the refined, elevated, football-first experience of the FC brand into the copy. To guard the tone of voice the team had meticulously crafted to match the ambiance the game wanted to create: welcoming, passionate, inclusive, footy fluent, plainly-spoken, excited, anticipatory. A bit like hearing instructions on the touchline from (Brighton-era) Graham Potter.

More examples of this project are available on request.
You could also just play the game.
That’d be the most fun option.
Admittedly.
